The Weekend WOW: Best “Oceans” Cover Edition

Throughout any given week, I strive to share hilarious, apt, relatable, bold, new, mesmerizing things on my Twitter and Facebook. At the end of the week, I condense the very best of Internetdom into a WOW-tastic blog post I call The Weekend WOW. And what a wonderful WOW-tastic week on the World Wide Web it was.

+ WOW what a hilarious 3-year-old: Please tell me y’all have already seen this video. Actually, please tell me you haven’t. Because I’m about to change your life. LINDA HONEY HONEY LOOK IT LOOK AT THIS:

+ WOW what an apt tweet: Tyler Huckabee is one of my very favorite Twitterers. He’s the managing editor of Relevant Magazine, and being able to share in his beard misery (“beardsery”) makes my soul feel a little less alone.

+ WOW what a relatable blog: Joseph Craven’s “Behind Blue Eyes.” There’s something about this Mississippian (no beardsery issues with this guy) that I always seem to resonate with — far beyond our similar irises. “It hurts to care,” he says, “and it’s easier to run away.” Check out this first of several installments from his recent birthday trek across the pond. Gosh, a birthday wandering sounds good to me, too…

+ WOW what a bold new album: Rend Collective’s latest, The Art of Celebration. These Irish dudes know how to sing and, well, celebrate. Their entire album is currently on YouTube, and my favorite track is “Boldly I Approach.” Haunting and triumphant all at once.

+ WOW what a mesmerizing cover: “Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)” by For A Season. I love the cover’s opening waves, and wait until about the 3:45 mark especially. That’s when I was really sold. From the music video to the song itself, it’s the best “Oceans” cover I’ve yet encountered. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

LINDA HONEY, what was your favorite part of the Internet this week?
