The Weekend WOW: Stormy Seas Edition

Throughout any given week, I strive to share encouraging, inspiring, calming  things on my Twitter and Facebook. At the end of the week, I condense the very best of Internetdom into a WOW-tastic blog post I call The Weekend WOW. And what a wonderful WOW-tastic week on the World Wide Web it was. A stormy week, actually.

+ WOW what an encouraging tweet: This past week has personally been one of my most trying weeks. There is, however, a comfort and a distinct healing in the journey.

+ WOW what an inspiring blog post: “Why We Should Welcome Hard Times” by Mike Foster on Donald Miller’s Storyline blog. Forget the Bible, forget history, forget “faith.” I think I most believe in God for this bizarre reality of beauty blooming from ashes, of devastating storms stirring new life in incomprehensible ways.

+ WOW what a calming song: “Cornerstone” by Hillsong United. It’s currently my favorite Hillsong creation; that stormy chorus gets me every time.

How about y’all? How was your week? How can I pray for you? Don’t be shy; share away.

    That was a beautiful piece on the storyline blog. Prayer requests! Awwwww, well. I’m shooting a family who is losing the father to cancer. This will be their last family gathering tomorrow and I’m documenting it.
    I could also really use some prayer for my family. We are currently in an “eye of the storm” as they say, but in April a lot of impossibly hard things are going to happen. Would rather not give details, but if you could pray for a 22 year old named Jessica and her legal team it would mean a lot. She needs a miracle.

    Yesterday I read Psalm 38 and thought it summed up my week (life) pretty well. Especially these verses:
    “6 I am bowed down and brought very low;
    all day long I go about mourning.
    7 My back is filled with searing pain;
    there is no health in my body.
    8 I am feeble and utterly crushed;
    I groan in anguish of heart.
    9 All my longings lie open before you, Lord;
    my sighing is not hidden from you.
    10 My heart pounds, my strength fails me;
    even the light has gone from my eyes.”
    If you wouldn’t mind, please pray for health and healing.
