I like lists. Lists keep the world in order. Lists tell us what’s the best of the best and the worst of the worst and the medicorest of the mediocre.
Top-10 lists are cute, but cliché. That’s why I do top-11 lists. They’re less cute, yes, but also less cliché, which also means more original. Also, I greatly worry what people think of me; I’ll trade cute for non-cliché.
A little while back I counted down my top-11 Hillsong songs (“Hillsongs”?). After two months with my own little niche in the blogosphere, that post remains one of my most viewed. So that led me to assume one of two things. Well, three:
- People love Hillsong.
- People love top-anything lists.
- People love my talking about both of these things.
After I wrote that top-11 post, I started pondering some other top-11 possibilities. And with the recent release of Casting Crowns’ fifth studio album, I thought it’d be a blasty-blast to count down my favorite songs from my favorite band.
EDIT: I’ve now updated this list! Click here for my favorite Hillsong United songs as of 3/13/13!
Something I’ve not written much about in my first three weeks of blogistence™ (blogging+existence) is my passion for Christian music. The CCM stuff, yes, along with the straight-up worship too. While interning for Revelife this past spring I got to blog about several of my favorite artists and songs, and I’ll be re-posting some of those blogs soon enough.
